Every act of kindness creates a ripple. Whether you have time, space, skills, or simply a desire to make a difference, you can play a meaningful role in improving the lives of cats in our communities. You don’t need to do everything — even one small action can change a cat’s entire story.
Below are some of the most impactful ways you can help, along with a little insight into why each one matters.
Become a Foster Carer
Fostering is one of the most powerful and rewarding ways to help. When you foster, you give a cat something they cannot get anywhere else: a safe, calm space to heal, grow, and learn to trust.

Why fostering matters
- It saves lives by creating space for us to help more cats
- It transforms behaviour and confidence
- It prepares cats for their forever homes
- It supports kittens, shy cats, and those needing extra care
Why fostering is so rewarding
- You see frightened cats relax and blossom
- You help kittens grow healthy and strong
- You witness trust being built day by day
- You play a direct role in changing a cat’s future
We’re always here with advice, guidance, and practical support — including providing crates where needed and covering all veterinary care — while you provide the love and stability that make all the difference.
Support Neutering and TNR
Neutering prevents suffering before it begins. By supporting neutering and TNR, you help reduce the number of kittens born into hardship and improve the welfare of entire colonies.
Neuter your own cats before allowing outdoor access
This is one of the most effective ways to prevent accidental litters and reduce pressure on local rescues. Early neutering protects your cat and helps the wider community.
Become a TNR trapper
Trapping is a hands‑on, highly impactful way to help outdoor cats. You don’t need experience — just a willingness to learn and a bit of patience.
Training and support provided
We offer guidance, training, and ongoing support for anyone interested in learning how to trap safely and humanely. You’ll never be left to figure it out alone.
Help with transport or appointments
Even driving a cat to a neutering appointment can make a huge difference, especially for people who are feeding large colonies or have limited transport options.
Contribute towards neutering costs
You can also support neutering by paying the vet directly toward a cat’s appointment. This ensures funds go straight to where they’re needed most and helps us reach more cats in need of care.
Volunteer Your Time or Skills
You don’t need to foster to make a meaningful impact. Volunteers help with transport, trapping, admin, fundraising, home checks, social media, photography, and more.
Whatever your skillset, there’s a place for you — and every hour strengthens the safety net for cats in need.
Donate or Provide Supplies
Rescue work is fuelled by generosity, and there are many practical ways to help. Supplies such as food, litter, bedding, traps, carriers, toys, and cleaning products make an immediate difference to the cats in our care.
If you’d like to support veterinary treatment, you can do so by paying the vet directly toward a cat’s appointment. This ensures every contribution goes straight to essential care — from neutering to emergency treatment — and helps us reach more cats who urgently need support.
Even a single bag of food or a small payment toward a vet bill can change a cat’s life.

If you would like to contribute directly toward a cat’s veterinary care, you can contact any of our partner clinics. Simply let them know you wish to make a payment toward New Hope Cat Rescue, and they will guide you through the process.

Share Information and Raise Awareness
Education saves lives. By sharing posts, talking to neighbours, or encouraging responsible ownership, you help create a community that understands and supports humane cat welfare. A shared post can find a foster home. A conversation can prevent a litter. Awareness is powerful.
We’re always happy to offer advice or answer questions, so if someone you know needs guidance about neutering, TNR, rehoming, or caring for a cat, we’re here to help.
Report Cats in Need
If you see a cat who is injured, abandoned, pregnant, or struggling, letting us know can be the first step toward safety. Many cats are helped simply because someone cared enough to speak up.
